Terms of Service

Ship My Device is a trade name of Fosmavic LLC, Laurel, Maryland. Last updated: 23 August 2026

These terms cover selling a device to us, whether you ship it or hand it over in person. Read them before you accept an offer — accepting an offer means accepting these terms.

1. What our offer is

The figure we send you is an offer to buy, based on what you told us about the device. It is not a valuation, an appraisal, or a guarantee of resale value. It is what we will pay for that device in the condition described.

Device prices move with the market, sometimes daily. The number we quote is the number as at the day we quote it. Once you accept an offer, that figure is what we pay, provided the device matches the condition you described.

An offer is open for 7 days from the day we send it. After that we may re-quote at current market rates.

2. Condition and inspection

We inspect every device on arrival against the description you gave us. Inspection covers function, originality of parts, screen condition, activation lock status and cosmetic grade.

If a device matches your description, we pay the agreed figure. If it does not, we contact you before doing anything else, with the specific device and the specific reason. You then choose to accept a revised offer, or to have the device returned to you at our cost.

We will not adjust a figure without telling you first, and we will not proceed on a revised figure without your agreement. If we cannot reach you within 14 days, we return the device to the address we hold for you.

3. What we do not buy

We do not buy devices with cracked screens, replaced screens, batteries, housings or cameras, water damage, devices that will not power on, or devices still locked to an Apple ID or other account.

Devices with replaced parts are not automatically refused — they go to a buyer for manual review and are priced individually rather than by our standard programme.

4. Ownership and legality

By selling to us, you confirm that you own the device or are authorised to sell it, that it is not stolen and is not reported lost or stolen, and that it is not subject to a security interest that prevents sale.

Carrier-locked devices and devices with an outstanding balance are welcome. A balance owed to a carrier is a matter between you and that carrier. The balance remains your responsibility — it does not transfer to us when we buy the hardware, so account for it before you accept an offer.

If a device is later reported stolen or blacklisted, we may reverse the transaction and recover the amount paid, and we may be required to report it.

5. Shipping and risk of loss

For mail-in sales we provide a prepaid, tracked shipping label at our cost.

Risk of loss remains with you until the package is delivered to us. Until delivery, the shipment is a matter between you and the carrier. This is why every label we issue is tracked, and we recommend that you keep the drop-off receipt and tracking number, declare the value with the carrier on any high-value lot, and pack devices so they cannot move inside the box.

Once your package is delivered to us it is our responsibility. Someone is available to receive shipments on arrival, and inspection begins the same business day wherever possible.

Lithium batteries. Devices containing lithium batteries must ship by ground or surface transport under carrier rules. Do not ship a device with a swollen, damaged or leaking battery.

6. In-person handovers

Where we agree to meet in person, handovers take place at a police-station safe exchange zone or a comparable public, staffed location. We do not conduct handovers at private addresses, ours or yours. We may decline any proposed meeting location.

7. Payment

We pay by Zelle, Cash App, Venmo, wire or ACH, or PayPal. You choose the method before shipping. Payment is issued after inspection is complete and you have accepted the final figure.

You are responsible for any tax arising from the sale. We do not withhold tax and we do not provide tax advice.

8. Data on your device

Erase your device before sending it. Sign out of iCloud, Google or Samsung accounts and turn off Find My or the equivalent activation lock.

We wipe devices on receipt as a matter of course, but you are responsible for removing your own data. We cannot recover data from a device once wiped, and we accept no liability for data left on a device.

A device that arrives with activation lock still enabled cannot be processed. We will contact you to have it removed, and if it cannot be removed we return the device.

9. Business and bulk sales

Bulk and supplier arrangements may be covered by a separate written agreement. Where that agreement conflicts with these terms, the separate agreement takes precedence.

Nothing on our website constitutes a standing price list or an ongoing commitment to buy at a fixed rate.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from any transaction is limited to the amount we agreed to pay for the device or lot in question.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit, lost data, or loss arising from delay. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

11. Not affiliated with Apple

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Apple Inc., Samsung, or any carrier. Product names are the trademarks of their owners and are used only to describe the devices we buy.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland. Disputes are subject to the courts of Maryland.

13. Changes and contact

We may update these terms. The version published here when you accept an offer is the version that applies to that transaction.
